Gold and Blushing Gold Angelfish

Gold angelfish are produced by DD Black matings - the solid gold provides the stripeless gene to the DD Zebras as mentioned previously. A number of the young Golds display the blushing trait, however many lose that trait within a few weeks. Some are still blushing at 6 months of age and have shown no signs of losing their rosy cheeks. Blushing, by the way, is the result of transparent or lightly pigmented gill covers, which allow the rich blood supply in the gills to show through, imparting the appearance of rosy cheeks. A significant percentage of the Tie Dyes and Golds from the Tie Dye Spawns are blushers.

I have a number of variations in gold angel fish, including "sunsets" which are gold or white with orange caps, some are taking on a whole body "peach" coloration. I have not photographed and cataloged these angels yet because they are quite similar with subtle differences and their colors intensify only as they age.
